When nature is entertainment
Located in the green valleys of the National Park of Abruzzo, in the
fertile tableland of Fucino, a once ancient lake, Aureli Company has
accepted to support with its healthy and organic products the summer
theatre festival backed by the Association of Gioia directed by Dacia
Maraini, an acclaimed italian writer and playwright theatre.
Respect for Nature and fair balance among tradition and innovation led
Aureli Company to support the Arts realising an agreement between
Quality-of the products-Nature-the territory where the Company is
located-and Culture.
The cultural project has a very ambitious ideal: to give life again to a
semiabandoned village – Gioia Vecchio, where a long time ago our
ancestors lived their painful but very active and real lives-thanks to
the summer cultural shows.
“Is it possible to give new life to a delightful little village
completely destroyed for a terrible earthquake at the end of XX Century?....We
hope that this semiabandoned place, calm and lovely can live again
trough the happiness of fiction, the representation of thought, the
competition between the senses, the strong, ancient patient and lovely

The Association founded on the 5th of December 2000, is a non-profit
organisation whose main aim is to save the ancient village of Gioia
Vecchio now semiabandoned and semidestroyed, located in an enchanting
place, at the entrance of the National Park of Abruzzo.
The members offer their efforts and energies just to realise their dream
to give life again to this little village “through the magic of Theatre”.
The first agenda of the Association is to organise the Festival of
Theatre, during the month of August, in the enchanting “terrace-garden”
which overtops the village of Gioia Vecchio.
Furthermore, the Association is engaged in the organisation of the
School of Dramaturgy-directed by Dacia Maraini- for adults as well as
teen-agers.
But the very ambitious goal of the Association is for Gioia Vecchio to
become a place for cultural studies, research and exchanges, and promote
initiatives in agreement with the respect of Nature, the support of
Culture and the recovery of ancient small villages.
